Celtic condemn fans who disrupted Remembrance Sunday silence

CELTIC have condemned the minority of fans who disrupted a minute's silence to commemorate Remembrance Sunday ahead of their game with Ross County.

The Bhoys ran out 4-1 winners at Victoria Park in Dingwall but the result was marred by a small fraction of the club's 6,042 travelling supporters who were heard booing and chanting during the traditional pause prior to kick-off.

A short statement released by the club said: "The silence was impeccably observed by the overwhelming majority of our fans as it always is.

"Clearly we are disappointed that a handful of individuals have chosen to embarrass the club and our supporters in this way. These individuals are not welcome at Celtic."

Manager Ronny Deila, whose side are now six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, claims he knows little about Celtic’s relationship with Remembrance Sunday, but has expressed his disappointment with the behaviour nonetheless.

“I am disappointed in it,” he said. “It is something the club maybe say something about, but personally it is disappointing.

“I come from Norway and I don't know too much about these things, but it is something the club has to deal with.”
