Casting an Irish eye on the League One playoffs

LET'S GET ready to rumble.

The Championship playoffs got off to a good start for the Irish last night, and once again, there are plenty of us involved in the League One playoffs on Tuesday night.

Here's who you should be keeping an eye on:

Sunderland

Aiden McGeady has had an extraordinary season with the Black Cats, and will be pivotal in any attempt to get them promoted to the Championship. Fellow countryman Aiden O'Brien could make a difference off the bench tonight too.

Lincoln City

One of Lincoln's most highly rated youngsters is not going to be available for these crucial games, as it is believed that he is currently on trial at Chelsea.

However, 22-year-old goal machine Anthony Scully will surely start the game up top. The young man has 13 goals this season, and will almost definitely be playing Championship football next season regardless of what happens this week.

Oxford

Olamide Shodipo will definitely start for Oxford, and will be hoping his trickery will help them through. He was born in Leixlip, and is currently having a great season on loan at Oxford from Queens Park Rangers.

Mark Sykes, Luke McNally and Liam Kelly will all also be hoping for a start.

Ballingary man Anthony Forde will also certainly be involved, though it's likely to be off the bench.

Blackpool

There are no clear connections between the current Blackpool side and Ireland.
