Former Ireland player and managerial target Lee Carsley is allegedly set to take over the England team on a temporary basis for the Nations League game against Ireland this coming September.
Carsley, who earned over 80 caps for Ireland, was at one time heavily linked with the Ireland job after Stephen Kenny's departure last November. However, talks never progressed, and Heimir Hallgrímsson, the former Jamaican coach, was appointed instead.

England have also been without a manager since Gareth Southgate stepped down from his role after the Euros, and now a new England boss is on the agenda at the FA.
A host of names have already been linked to the job, and, like the Ireland job, England's U-21 boss Carsley is one of the names expected to take over from Southgate.
Ireland will play England in the Nations League opener in September, and a number of reports from the UK claim that Carsley will take charge of the team while the search for a new boss continues.
The Telegraph reports, "Carsley is in 'pole position' to take interim charge of England for the September internationals while the recruitment process for a permanent boss takes place. Carsley is being considered for the permanent role, but the FA will not provide an update on the search until a final decision has been made."
Let's wait and see what happens.
England will play Ireland in Dublin on September 7 at the Aviva Stadium.
