Brentford's Technical Director, Lee Dyke has expressed his admiration for Liverpool's Caoimhín Kelleher as speculation continues to grow around the Cork native's future.
Kelleher's time at Liverpool seems to be coming to an end due to a lack of game time at the club.
The 24-year-old has been resigned to playing second fiddle to Alisson Becker at the six-time European champions and is said to be considering his options.
The Reds rebuffed enquiries from Premier League clubs last summer, and boss Jurgen Klopp told reporters this year that it would take 'an extraordinary' offer for him to leave Anfield this summer.
Clubs like Tottenham and Brentford have both been linked with the Irish shot-stopper this year because of issues with their own keepers.
Hugo Lloris is expected to leave Spurs this summer, and his replacement is reportedly Brentford's David Raya. The goalkeeper merry-go-round has started, and Kelleher is expected to be part of the saga.
Speaking on the Beautiful Game Podcast, Dykes gave his take on Kelleher's qualities, calling him a 'great goalkeeper'.
“Kelleher is a good goalkeeper," said Dykes. "There is no doubt in that. He is a good goalkeeper. He has not played a lot of games obviously; he has been in the shadows a little bit at Liverpool.”
On the international front, Kelleher has been called up for Ireland's two Euro 2024 qualifier games against Greece and Gibraltar.
Ireland's game against Greece will kick off at 7.45pm on Friday.
