CLUB NOTES
ST JOSEPHS
The seniors made it two from two in the VGC Intermediate Championship in what was a polished performance against St Brendans. A number of scores from Niall McAlynn, Eamonn McGovern and one outstanding effort from Dave Kilcullen put the Joes in the driving seat mid-way through the second period. The introduction Mark McNulty seen him make a sizable impact enabling him to convert another two scores alongside Tom Lawrence and James Gart…Oh that one went wide! After the last number of super performances we can forgive you for that one James! The last score of the day went to probably our best player on the day as Damien Hanahoe had a nosebleed moment and ventured forward to what must be his first score for the Joes. Well done Damo. A super win for the Joes lads on the day and puts them safely through to the semi-finals of the competition with a game to spare. FT Score St Joseph’s 1-13 St Brendans 0-7.

TIR CHONAIL GAELS
The Seniors started the defence of the championship after drawing with the Round Towers at Greenford on Sunday evening (see page 39). The Juniors are due to be in action again next Saturday, August 20, at Greenford at 5pm against Crawley & Brighton Gaels in the next round of the Championship. The league game due to be played against Eire Og at the weekend was postponed. Congratulations to Lloyd, Patrick and all the boys on winning the shield at the GAA World Games in Dublin last week and for doing the club proud.
GLASGOW GAELS
Both opponents for the Gaels last week were unable to field, conceding the two point wins to the Gaels (Seniors v. Dalriada and Juniors v. Sands MacSwineys). Both men's teams will now take on Dunedin Connollys of Edinburgh this Sunday. However, Peterson Park is unavailable due to Scotland Shinty Finals and therefore the matches will be held in Thornliebank in Glasgow. All support very welcome. The club will also hold its annual County Colours Night on the 27th August in Malones Bar in Glasgow. All are very welcome. Please check our Facebook page for further detail. Whether you’re a novice or inter-county player, the Gaels are always looking for new players and members. Please do get in contact if you’re interested: [email protected].
THOMAS McCURTAINS
Congratulations to the Camogs who won three games to qualify for the semi-finals of the GAA World Games last week. New players are always very welcome to join our friendly club. We have Gaelic Football & Hurling teams for both men and ladies from U8s up to adults.
