CLUB NOTES
ST JOSEPHS
For this week only training will take place on Friday night at 19:30, as we have a friendly match vs London Juniors in Perivale Park on Wednesday night. Training will revert to the usual times next week on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 19:30 sharp in Perivale Park – Postcode UB6 8TJ. If the location, day or time is to change please keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook page for updates. Transport to and from training and pick-up from stations/bus stops can be arranged, if required. The Joes put in a spirited performance at Colindale last Sunday past. however came up short against a very strong Fulham Irish outfit. We started the stronger of the two teams and rattled off a number of points in the opening 15 minutes, but Fulham Irish came back strong and started to dominate, responding with fine scores of their own, leaving the Joes rueing a number of missed opportunities. The Joes, however, plugged away and led by a point at the interval thanks to a fine effort from Emmet Haughey which seen the ball rattle the back of the net. The second-half seen Fulham Irish come out all guns blazing and rattled off 1-5 without response to leave them in an extremely dominant position with a large portion of the 2nd period remaining. However, to our credit, the Joes plugged away and scored 1-1 in the latter stages, Emmet Haughey netting his second major of the day. However this was not enough to prevent the first loss of the season as Fulham chipped away at the scoreboard. A brave performance from the team against an experienced side, which will stand to them going forward in the division. FT score St.Joseph’s 2-04 Fulham Irish 4-08. The Joes take on Harlesden Harps in the final of the Murphy cup final in Mill Hill this Sunday (22/05). Throw in at 14:30 with all players asked to be at the Venue no later than 13:30.
