WHILE Ireland’s cricketers have been battling the likes of the West Indies in the 2015 World Cup, one Irish rugby legend is tuning in to the action.
Brian O’Driscoll has revealed in an interview with Sport magazine, that while he doesn’t mind the shorter, action-packed tournament games of cricket, Test matches send him to sleep.
“I can watch one-day cricket, and Twenty20 matches are brilliant, but I just couldn’t watch Test matches, it’s too slow,” O’Driscoll said. “But, I’m sure there are other sports that are worse.”
The retired Ireland captain admits to being partial to watching a game or two, however, Ireland cricket captain William Porterfield and his team aren’t top of the pecking order when it comes to O’Driscoll’s favourite sports.
"Rugby, golf and football,” he replied, when asked which three sports he’d pick to watch for the rest of his life.
