LIONEL MESSI may have near supernatural abilities with a ball at his feet, but there’s no doubt he really does exist.
So when a Spanish journalist – in Glasgow for Wednesday’s visit of Barcelona to Celtic – asked Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers if Messi was more believable than the Lock Ness Monster, the Northern Irishman was suitably stumped.
Professional as ever, Rodgers got on with the job – after a brief giggle in disbelief at the question – saying: “I don’t really know so much about the Loch Ness Monster, but I know Lionel Messi is a brilliant player.”
Well played Brendan, although the former Liverpool boss couldn’t finish without pointing out what a ridiculous comparison he’d just been served with.
