PRO12 champions Connacht lacked a little bite in their early season form, but they rediscovered their appetite in Sunday’s 52-7 thumping of Zebre.
But the game wasn’t entirely a piece of cake for the Irish side though, as Zebre hooker Oliviero Fabiani tried to disrupt Connacht’s feast of tries with a bite of his own – literally.
The Italian sunk his teeth into the leg of Connacht’s Quinn Roux in a bizarre move which saw him sent off having been spotted by the television match official (TMO).
Fabiani now faces the prospect of a lengthy ban with Englishman Chris Ashton of Saracens recently reciving a 13-week ban as punishment for the same offence.
