FAI chief executive John Delaney has refused to reveal any details of an apparent ‘arrangement’ between the association and FIFA following the controversial 2010 World Cup play/off loss against France.
Speculation suggested that the FAI received a €5 million payment following the incident and this morning on RTE Radio One Delaney said: “There was a legal case we had against FIFA at the time.
“There was an arrangement that was come to, but it certainly wasn’t bestowing patronage to us.
“That is confidential for the moment, but what I will say is that at no stage have we ever voted in favour of Blatter. We have been consistent in that and I have as well.”
