An England fan that mocked the death of Diego Maradona before the Italy game on Thursday had his ticket cancelled by the English FA

AN ENGLAND FAN THAT brought an offensive banner to Naples for the Italy and England friendly on Thursday had his ticket for the game cancelled by the English FA. 

The fan in question brought a flag to Naples, which included a message mocking the late Diego Maradona who passed away in 2020. The message said, 'Diego’s in A Box’

The photo on social media went viral after it was posted.

Maradona is treated like a god in Naples because of his time at the club, He won the Italian club two league titles and the UEFA Cup from the years 1984–1991.

Napoli’s stadium is also named after Maradona, which tells you the level of adoration for the Argentine legend.

Before England's 2-1 win over Italy in Naples, the English FA confirmed that they cancelled the ticket of the fan with the offensive banner.

They also went onto say that they would be looking into the matter when the team land back in England

"We strongly condemn the actions of the individual who travelled to Naples with a flag that had a highly offensive message on it," said the FA

“We immediately took steps to have their tickets cancelled before the match. The matter will be reviewed further when we return to England."
