Amanda Serrano's promoter Jake Paul has confirmed he is in talks with Eddie Hearn to get a Taylor v Serrano rematch in Croke Park

AMANDA SERRANO'S promoter Jake Paul has confirmed that there are ongoing discussions between his promotional company Most Valuable Promotions and Eddie Hearn's Matchroom to host a rematch between Katie Taylor and Serrano in Croke Park next year.

The pair fought in Madison Square Garden in New York last year. The iconic venue that has hosted some of the biggest stars in the world over the years made more history last spring. Taylor and Serrano became the first women ever to headline a boxing event at the Garden.

Taylor came out on top via a split decision from the judges on the night.

After the fight all the attention turned to Taylor's next fight which everyone presumed would be in Ireland in Croke Park the national stadium, but that never came to fruition.

Taylor went onto fight Argentina's Karen Elizabeth Carabajal at the Wembley Arena last May, she won easily, while Serrano beat Sarah Mahfoud in December to retain her WBC, WBO and IBO female featherweight titles.

A lot of clamour has gone on to get Taylor a home fight in Croke Park. Hearn, Taylor's promoter earlier this year said that they were doing everything they could to get a fight in Ireland.

"Katie Taylor at Croke Park, basically we’re all over it. It’s the only thing we want to do. We’re negotiating at the moment with Most Valuable Promotions. We’re closing in on a deal," he said via Instagram last November.

“Serrano could fight for undisputed [featherweight champion] as well against Erika Cruz in early February. We want to make it happen. Croke Park, we’re doing everything we can and I think we’ll make it happen.”

Hearn's promotion rival Jake Paul has now echoed Hearn's sentiments and confirmed that negotiations are ongoing between both parties.

Paul tweeted last weekend: "Me & MVP are negotiating with Eddie Hearn & Matchroom to get @Serranosisters the fights she deserves. Amanda’s priority is to be the 1st undisputed Puerto Rican champ. If & when she achieves that, she’s agreed to go to Ireland to fight Katie Taylor in front of 80,000 Irish fans."

Hearn also confirmed that the news was true

“We’re in negotiations with Nakisa and MVP (Most Valuable Promotions). Obviously, our priority is to make the rematch with Katie Taylor," he said

"At the same time, we’d like to do a two-fight deal with them. There’s a massive opportunity for Serrano to fight Cruz and then Taylor in the big rematch.

"For Serrano to become undisputed at 126 and then fight Katie again for the undisputed at 135 at Croke Park in Dublin, it would make that rematch even bigger if you can imagine that."

Hearn went on to say: “We need to move on to Katie's next fight.

“She has three options on Croke Park. We want to choose one within the next two weeks max. We want it to be Amanda Serrano.”

A fight around spring time 2023 could be likely, but fans of the Bray native will have to wait and see what happens.
