THE FIRST weekend of the Allianz Football League finished this weekend and it's fair to say a lot of fans of the GAA will be delighted with the return of the national sport.
Dublin played Kildare in their opening game of division 2. Dessie Farrell's men beat the 'Lily Whites' by a point in a thrilling encounter in Croke Park
Mayo and Galway played out a dinger in Castlebar, where the spoils were shared among the provincial rivals and on Sunday Donegal downed the All-Ireland champions Kerry at Sean MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey, County Donegal.
Meath also got the better of Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Colm O'Rourke s first competitive game.
