Adam Idah gets permanent Celtic move

Ireland's Adam Idah has agreed to a five-year deal with Celtic. The Cork native joins the club from Norwich City after spending five seasons at Carrow Road.

Idah spent the second half of last season on loan from the Canaries at Celtic.

The reported fee to bring the Irish striker back to Glasgow is potentially £9.5 million.

Speaking to the club's official channel, Celtic TV, Idah said it was clear where he wanted to play his football and that he was delighted to be a full-time Celtic player.

"I think everyone knew where I wanted to be. It's amazing for me, and I’m delighted to be back.

"Within the first couple of days of being here, when I came on loan the first time, I wanted to play for Celtic.

"It was amazing to score all of those goals, to be with the boys, and to see these amazing fans week in, week out. It was unbelievable. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and I’m just so happy to be back.

"I always wanted to play for Celtic, and obviously, last season was amazing. To come here now and be fully part of the team and part of this club is amazing to me."

Idah temporarily joined Brendan Rodgers's side in February and scored nine goals in 19 games, including the Scottish Cup final winner against Rangers.

Celtic manager Rodgers believes that Idah can play a very important role for the Scottish League champions once again this season.

"He is a player who has already given us so much, performing fantastically for us on loan and really delivering for the club and our fans last season.

"He played a pivotal role in our success last year, and I know he can be hugely important for us again.

"Adam has fantastic attributes, and he is a dynamic, hungry, committed player who can make a real difference.

"Really importantly, Adam feels at home at Celtic. He has a love and passion for the club, and I know he will give everything to once again bring our fans success."
