A Cork man will referee the All-Ireland final between Kilkenny and Limerick

A Cork man will referee the All-Ireland final between Kilkenny and Limerick and that Cork man is Colm Lyons.

The showpiece hurling event takes place on the 17th of July in Croke Park and with that it will mean that Lyons will make his debut in the final as the man in the middle for the senior event.

A member of Nemo Rangers club in Cork, Lyons has previously refereed the All-Ireland Minor Final in 2012, Allianz Hurling League Final in 2017, Leinster Hurling Final in 2017, and the AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Finals in 2018 and 2020, but never the All-Ireland senior event.

His previous games this year's Championship have been Allianz League matches featuring Waterford v Tipperary and Clare v Wexford, Galway v Kilkenny in the Leinster Championship, two Munster championship games between Clare and Limerick, and an All-Ireland Quarter Final between Wexford and Clare.

Ciarán Hanley (Brian Dillons), Johnny Barry (Ballinure), Philip Mackey and Finian Mullane (Nemo Rangers) will be the umpires on the day.

Liam Gordon will be the standby referee. The other linesman is Paud O’Dwyer (Carlow) and the side-line official will be Michael Kennedy (Tipperary).
