MARTIN O'NEILL will be one of the star attractions at Friday's 2016 Irish Post Awards, but it's not the first time the Republic of Ireland manager has attended the annual event.
The Irish Post Awards has been running since the 1970s, and O'Neill has achieved a great deal since he first made an appearance in 1992, when he was only just beginning to make a name for himself as a football manager with Wycombe Wanderers.
On the night, O'Neill was joined by fellow high achievers Olympic legend Ronnie Delany, former London Irish and Ireland winger Simon Geoghegan, double Olympic high jumper Brendan Reilly and, of course, Eamonn Holmes.
It's been a long, successful journey for O'Neill since then, which is why he will be awarded for his Outstanding Contribution to the Sports Industry at Friday night's event at the Grosvenor Hotel, London.
