Arva house is an ideal retirement home

Property seekers searching of somewhere that offers plenty of outdoor activities while still retaining a sense of countryside calm should consider the Cavan town of Arva.

And this week auctioneer Barney Cully is offering this two storey terrace house for sale - Longford Street
Arva, Co Cavan.

Located in a quiet part of the town it comes with on-street parking. The two-bedroom property also includes a shower, kitchen and sitting room. And there is a small yard and shed outside.

“It would be ideal for a retirement home or for fishing breaks,” selling agent Barney Cully says adding that it would make the ideal retirement home in Ireland for British buyers thinking about moving back home. “It’s a short stroll to the shops on Main Street where all your needs can be met and there are churches to cater for all religious persuasions,” he added.

And when it comes to outdoor pursuits Arva doesn’t fail to impress.

The scenic town is uniquely situated in the centre of a drumlin belt with the nearby Bruise mountain crowned with three stone cairns dating from the Neolithic period.

The town itself is famous for being where the three provinces of Ulster, Leinster and Connacht meet. And the surrounding area is also popular with fishermen, with lakes including the Hollybank, Gulladoo and Rockfield offering excellent angling year round.

An international fishing tournament – the Arva International Fishing Festival - takes place every September.

Nearby is the Breffni Arms Hotel is the local family-run hotel. It’s got a restaurant, bar, nightclub, gym and swimming pool. There are also several pubs in the town, many with music at the weekends.

And with a population of about 300 people you’re sure to get to know your new neighbours in no time at all.

Among the many other things to do and enjoy in the area is the annual Breffni Challenge Run, which takes place from Cavan to Arva every August. All proceeds go to St. Luke's Hospital in Dublin. Then in July the famous Arva Agricultural Show takes place in the town.

From a transport perspective Arva is nicely situated just 12 miles from Cavan town and 18 miles from Longford - all with local bus connections.

Dublin is just an hour and a half drive, with Belfast being just two hours away.

The property is surrently on offer with a reasonable reserve for a quick sale. Contact auctioneer Barney Cully on 00353 87 6794 215 for further details.
