Watch: George Clooney flung 20ft into the air during horror motorbike crash in Italy

SHOCKING FOOTAGE of the motorbike crash that put George Clooney in the hospital during a trip to Sardinia with wife Amal has surfaced online.

The Ocean's 11 actor suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the road accident in Italy after his scooter collided with a car.

According to state-owned Italian broadcaster TGR, the 57-year-old was taking a break from filming in Sardinia when the accident occurred near the beach resort of Costa Corallina in Olbia.

And now dramatic footage has revealed just how serious a crash it was, with Clooney flung 20ft into the air in the heart-stopping CCTV footage obtained by Corriere Della Sera.

The star's helmet was shattered in the collision after Clooney smashed into an approaching Mercedes at a speed of around 60mph.

The incident occurred after the car's driver, said to be in his 60s, attempted an abrupt turn into Clooney's lane of traffic, sending the actor flying over the handlebars as a result.

He was rushed to Saint John II Hospital in Olbia with minor injuries but has since been discharged from ER.

Clooney's spokesman Stan Rosenfield confirmed: "He is recovering at his home and will be fine."

It comes after Clooney was pictured stepping off a private jet in Sardinia with wife Amal, 40, and infant twins, Alexander and Ella, last month.

The A-list couple are believed to have brought their parents to the Italian island to help care for the children while Clooney works.
