Calling all single Irish men over 30: First Dates Ireland needs you!

FIRST DATES Ireland is on the lookout for a very specific sort of singleton ahead of the next series of the hit blind dating show.

The show's premise is fairly self-explanatory: two singles meet for a date in a fancy restaurant, with the cameras recording every heart-warming/excruciating moment.

While the English version is filmed in London, First Dates Ireland is filmed out of the Coda Eatery at The Gibson Hotel in Dublin using over 20 cameras.

Unfortunately, it appears that COCO Television, the producers behind the hit series have been struggling to recruit a certain type of single for the new series: men.

Or more specifically, single men over the age of 30.

In fact, COCO Television has gone as far as taking the issue to Twitter with a call-out for men in that particular dating bracket.

The team behind the series has upped the ante further with a promotional video.

The clip saw popular waitress Alice Marr (they are characters on the show) telling viewers: "If you're single and looking for love, we're reopening the First Dates restaurant for another series."

All the old favourites are returning, including maître D' Mateo Saina, barman Ethan Miles, and waiter Pete Ungless, who will all be on hand to help romance blossom.

They just need a few more single fellas to sign up.
