Dublin pub hosting 'doggy date night' where customers can bring their dog to dinner

A DUBLIN pub is putting the old mantra about dogs being man's best friend to the ultimate test with a weekly 'doggy date night'.

On Wednesday, September 26th, Doyle's pub in Phibsborough will be opening its doors to a special night of fine dining for humans and dogs alike.

The concept is simple enough: rather than leave their canine companion at home, loved-up couples can enjoy a meal out in the company of their pet pooch.

Alternatively, singletons looking to impress a prospective partner on a first date can bring along their dog along to serve as hairy, obedient wingman of sorts.

For €40, diners can choose any two main courses from the amusingly titled "Wuff and Ready Menu" along with a bottle of wine.

Any pet pooches in attendance, meanwhile, will be given their very own bottle of Snuffle Dog Beer which is guaranteed to get tails wagging.

Doyle's Pub boasts a fairly sizeable dining area which should make for a lively setting.

Anyone wishing to get involved needs to call Doyle's on 016991999 after 3pm to make a reservation. Bookings are also being taken by the pub's Facebook page.

In the meantime, Doyle's is also giving one lucky pair the chance to win a table for two with dinner and wine on Doggy Date Night.

Best of all, the prize comes with one extra treat: an artist from Pawtrait Ireland will be on hand to create a picture of your pet pooch.
