A YOUNG IRISH nurse killed in a single car collision in rural Ireland has been named.
Keady Clifford, 29, originally from Dingle Co Kerry, was killed in a single-vehicle collision on the N25 road at Water Rock in Co Cork, yesterday morning.
It's understood Ms Clifford's vehicle left the road and struck a barrier.
Emergency services attended and Ms Clifford, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
She has been brought to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination and the
Forensic collision investigators from An Garda Síochána have examined the crash site.
According to Radio Kerry, the west Kerry community is in shock following the death of Ms Clifford in the collision.
Paying tribute to her on social media, her basketball team in Glanmire, Co Cork said: "Unfortunately we have been told of the passing of our friend Keady Clifford.
"Keady played with Glanmire for a number of years while studying and working in Cork.
"Originally from Dingle, Kerry, Keady was dedicated, lovable and adored by friends, coaches and players and will be truly missed.
"We extend our deepest of sympathy to Keady's family, friends and work mates at this very sad time."
