IRELAND’S favourite stout looks set to become a fixture on our dinner tables – as Guinness is taking on a sauce form.
A Guinness table sauce will hit the shelves from this week, giving us a new way to consume the 250-year-old beverage.
1.2 million pints of Guinness are consumed in Britain every day – and the brewer asked the public whether they would like to try a dash of the black stuff on the side of their dinner.
Guinness fans across Britain and Ireland responded with a resounding ‘yes’ – and the new sauce was born.
A bottle of the sauce contains 7 per cent Guinness, sourced directly from the famous St James’s Gate brewery in the heart of Dublin city.
In Britain, Guinness Sauce will be available exclusively from Tesco, retailing at £1.49 per bottle.
Apparently, the sauce works well with sausages or burgers but whether it's a hit with shoppers remains to be seen.
