A WOMAN who stabbed her partner two death using two knives has been jailed for life.
Claire McMahon, of Pennine Terrace, Dukinfield, was convicted of murdering her partner John Robinson, 37, in a frenzied attack which took place at their flat in Greater Manchester in May 2019.
The 35-year-old, who went before Manchester Crown Court this week, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 18 years in jail.
The court heard that at around 11.50pm on May 22, 2019 a commotion broke out between McMahon and Mr Robinson in their flat on Pennine Terrace, Ashton-under-Lyne.
McMahon initially stabbed him in the bedroom, but then got another knife from the kitchen and the couple were seen tussling on their balcony by neighbours.
During this struggle, McMahon stabbed Mr Robinson repeatedly, causing him to collapse to the ground gasping for air.
An ambulance was called, but despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
McMahon was arrested on suspicion of murder on May 23, 2019 and she was later charged.
Senior Investigating Officer Duncan Thorpe said: “This was a tragic incident that has caused distress for all involved and our thoughts remain with John’s family who have endured a terrible loss.
“Today’s verdict comes as a result of a meticulous investigation to bring the offender to justice.
“We hope that today’s decision can bring some closure to John’s family and friends.”
