Woman punched in face and dragged from car in Belfast hijacking

A YOUNG WOMAN has been assaulted and dragged from her car in a hijacking in Belfast.

The incident occurred yesterday at 6.30pm in the Ardglen Place area in the north of the city near the junction of Jamaica Street.

The 21-year-old woman was flagged down by a man who asked for directions.

When she opened the car window she was hit in the face and then dragged from the car.

The man then got into the grey Volkswagen Golf and drove off, leaving the woman shaken and injured on the street.

Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for information.
