A WOMAN has been jailed for stealing from Irish publican Mick Doheny as he lay dying in the street.
After a six-month wait, St Pancras Coroner’s Court was told last month that three people were initially held on suspicion of theft after police discovered that personal items had been taken from Mr Doheny, who was found unconscious on Camden’s Pratt Street on November 8 last year.
The inquest heard that the 49-year-old died after suffering a “significant head injury” from a fall onto the pavement.
The Kilkenny man, who ran the successful World’s End pub in Camden, had been drinking throughout the day and a toxicology report uncovered that his blood-alcohol level was six times the drink-drive limit.
Maria Kitanous (47), of Drovers Way, Holloway, was one of two people charged with theft.
Kitanous pleaded guilty in February and was sentenced to 20 weeks in jail.
Graham Fitzpatrick (50) of Hilldrop Crescent, Holloway, will appear at Blackfriars Crown Court charged with theft on June 3.
