Woman is internet laughing stock after being told fancy new rug resembles Greggs pastry

A WOMAN has become the butt of pastry-based jokes far and wide after several people on social media pointed out that her prized new rug bore an uncanny resemblance a savoury steak bake.

In a purchase that has had many pondering whether the buyer had baked goods on the brain at the time, the proud owner took to Facebook to gush about her new yellow rug.

Posting on the Facebook group DIY on a Budget Official, the woman posted a picture of the fancy new floor cloth along with the caption “Love my new rug”.

It wasn’t long before some of the group’s 1.9 million members began to comment on the post, noting how appealing the floor covering looked.

The only problem was that, for the most part, the rug left people feeling a bit hungry.

One fellow member kicked things off with the confession: "At some point I’d probably try eating the rug after a big night out."

"It does look like a big steak bake lol," another joked, before admitting they "wouldn't want to be on a diet and looking at that rug all day..."

News of the sausage roll-like rug soon spread to Twitter, where an account by the name of the Revolution Breakfast spoke of it in reverential terms.

"Woah. A Steak Bake rug."

Others were quick to express their appreciation.

One fan got poetic, declaring: "Sausage and beans and I'm keen."

Another stated the obvious: "Looks like a Greggs pasty," before adding, bizarrely, "this really is a positive thing."

The original owner has yet to comment on furore surrounding her rug.

Probably taking a bake from social media.
