A FEMALE festival goer has become an overnight social media sensation – for a pretty trucked up reason.
Kaitlyn Strom was attending the Winstock Country Music Festival with friends in the US when she hit upon a novel idea – sticking her head in a truck exhaust pipe.
"I saw this big exhaust pipe and I was like, 'Hey, my head could probably fit in that,'" she explained to the Hutchinson Leader.
"So I tried it. It did fit, but it didn’t want to come back out."
Strom spent the next 45 minutes with her head stuck inside the pipe. She was eventually rescued by firefighters who had to use a power saw to get her free according to WCCO TV.
Though she escaped the incident unscathed, she was reprimanded by the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office for underage drinking, according to The Associated Press.
It didn’t take long for her ordeal to turn up online either, with one onlooker filming Strom with her head stuck up the exhaust pipe and uploading the video to Facebook.
The footage has already been viewed over 2.5 million times on social media, with comments ranging from the sympathetic to the insulting.
"A lot of people don’t realize how serious it was," Strom told the Leader. "So it’s kind of expected when it’s blasted on the internet that you’re going to get negative comments. … Some people can be really cruel."
This latest viral sensation comes hot on the heels of footage of an off-duty FBI agent attempting a backflip on a dancefloor, only to accidentally shoot a fellow nightclub patron.
The agent in question has since been charged and could face time in jail.
