A 48-year-old woman has died following a two-car collision in Co. Laois.
The woman died at the scene of the incident, which occured on the N80 between Ballickmoyler and Coolhenry at around 10pm last night.
A man in his 40s who was driving the other car has been taken to Tullamore General Hospital.

His injuries are described as serious.
The N80 remains closed between Carlow town and Ballickmoyler as gardaí perform a technical examination.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057-8674100, the Garda Confidential line or any garda station.
