A WOMAN has been arrested after a man was struck by a car in Belfast, leaving him with life-changing injuries.
The 29-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and is being held in police custody.
The male pedestrian, aged in his 40s, sustained severe head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital.
A PSNI spokesperson described his injuries as life-changing, but not life-threatening.
The collision happened on the Ballysillan Road in the north of the city at around 3.15 this morning.
It is the second major incident on the road this week, following the death of a young mother in a collision on Thursday.
Belfast City Councillor Dale Pankhurst has since called for more resources to help tackle dangerous driving on the stretch of road.
In light of the horrific incidents on the Ballysillan Rd over the past few weeks, I have set up a meeting with Road Service reps this Wednesday, and I will be pressing for more to be done to keep the residents of this area safe.
This incidents can not be allowed to continue.
