A WOMAN has been arrested after she allegedly caused damage to pro-life abortion posters in Dublin.
The freestanding posters - which have caused controversy over their use of graphic imagery - were owned by the pro-life group Irish Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (ICBR).
The alleged incident occurred on Townsend Street in Dublin city centre at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The woman was arrested at the scene and detained at Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, Gardaí said.
It comes just days after Health Minister Simon Harris slammed "disgusting posters" that were left on a lamppost outside his home in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
The posters showed Mr Harris with an extremely graphic image of a bloodied foetus and criticised him for his support of repealing the Eighth Amendment in May 25's abortion referendum.
Mr Harris released a statement on Twitter on Tuesday, which read: "Thanks to those who contacted me about disgusting posters which have been put up across my constituency today. I saw them on way to work.
"Have too much important work to do to give this time but want you to know it only makes me all the more determined to work #togetherforyes".
