A WOMAN has been killed after she was struck by a car in a horror incident in Co. Tipperary last night.
The collision occurred at Kilcoran, Cahir on the R639 Old Cork Road at around 8.20pm.
The woman in her 50s was walking on the hard shoulder next to a child on a bicycle when she was struck by a car and fatally injured.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The child was not injured in the incident.
The driver of the car, a man in his late 20s, was also uninjured.
He was travelling from Cahir towards Mitchelstown at the time.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was travelling in the area last night to contact them at Cahir Garda Station on 052 744 5630.
