JUST WHEN you think Dublin Zoo can't get any better.
Dublin Zoo's annual Wild Lights is back to stun audiences young and old with its incredible night-time lantern display depicting Irish myths and legends as well as childhood classics such as the Wizard of Oz,the Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland.
The yearly display will run until mid-January 2020, so there's plenty of time to grab your little ones-- or your friends, because this is certainly an event people of all ages can enjoy-- and make the trip to Dublin to see the breathtaking light show.
Open daily from 5pm until 9pm-- so after the zoo has closed to the public-- Wild Lights contains over one thousand incredible and unique lanterns scattered across the grounds of the zoo, each one more hypnotic than the last.
Food and drink stalls along with live performances by Chinese entertainers is just the cherry on top for this awe-inspiring festival, which the organisers describe as "an enchanted wonderland" which comes to life as darkness descends across the country.
The 2019 edition of Wild Lights includes areas celebrating Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Nursery Rhymes, The Jungle Book, The Lost World, The Tree of Life, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Bedtime Stories-- but it's the Irish Myths and Legends which has really caught our imagination, with ancient Ogham writing and the myth of the Salmon of Knowledge making up part of the section.
Now that's what we call a collection.
