A WELSH coroner has approved the exhumation of remains buried in Wales as part of an investigation into the disappearance of an Irish woman in 1994.
The development comes as part of a cold case review of unidentified bodies in Wales.
The exhumation is aimed at establishing if the remains are those of Pauline Finlay, who disappeared in Co Wexford 23 years ago.
The 49-year-old was last seen walking her dogs on a beach near Kilmuckridge in March 1994.
An unidentified body was found on a beach near Holyhead on the Welsh coast later that year.
Ms Finlay's family has been told her remains may have been buried in a grave in Wales.
