This weekend's weather forecast doesn't hold very promising news

SUN LOVERS, it's a time for mourning.

The last week or so on the Emerald Isle have been bright and warm, with the majority of the country strolling around in shorts or even topless doing their gardening among other chores.

Considering the unpredictable extremes we've had in the last month, including snow in mid-March, I was just one of the many people who was feeling comfortable about the clear sunny Spring weather we were finally receiving.

Today remains another warm, beautiful day in Ireland but the team over at Met Éireann have predicted that the sun won't be here for much longer.

Saturday is set to stay dry with sunny spells in most areas.

Cloud are threatening to increase with outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing this afternoon and evening.

Sea fog is reported to set along the eastern and southern coasts also.

Temperatures will remain between 15 to 20 degrees.

For anyone planning a BBQ this evening, later promises rain along coastal counties tonight and will reportedly spread eastwards to all areas overnight.

Misty foggy patches will occur also tonight. Tonight's lowest temperatures will be between 4 to 8 degrees.

Unfortunately, tomorrow's weather promises bouts of rain, putting a sure dampener on any activities planned.

Sunday is set to hold a mix of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, a few of the showers turning locally heavy in the late afternoon and evening.

The temperatures will drop a little, hovering between 11 to 14 degrees.

Sunday evening's showers will become increasingly isolated and will clear to leave Sunday night mostly dry for a time.

Lowest temperatures will range from between 5 to 7 degrees.
