THE OVERCAST weather currently in the Emerald Isle doesn't look like it's clearing up any time soon.
Tonight, the rain will be heavy at times in the southwest, and temperatures are set to drop from 5 to 8 degrees.
According to Met Éireann, Sunday is set to be breezy with showery outbreaks of rain and some heavier rain at times over western coastal regions.
The dry weather will mostly be in the east. Generally cloudy for the day but sunnier intervals will develop occasionally. Temperatures have been predicted of being between 10 to 13 degrees.
Monday is set to be mostly dry with some bright spells and just the odd shower but it will become cloudy with rain. Winds will increase to strong and gusty and near exposed coasts very strong. Top temperatures will be 11 to 13 degrees.
Persistent and heavy rain will continue over the western half on Monday night with outbreaks of rain further east. It will stay windy as well with strong and gusty southerly winds keeping lowest temperatures around 9 or 10 degrees.
Tuesday is to start cloudy with further heavy and persistent rain in the west which will gradually ease and some bright or sunny spells will develop later.
Top temperatures have been predicted as being 12 to 14 degrees. Tuesday night will become mostly dry later with some clear spells and lowest temperatures staying again around 10 degrees with mist and fog patches forming.
It will be mostly dry on Wednesday and Thursday with good sunny spells and just the odd shower. It will turn milder with daytime temperatures in the mid to high teens and winds ease as high pressure builds from the east.
