YOU don't traditionally think of Ireland as a haven for skiers, but anyone out in the peaks of Donegal's Glenveagh National Park yesterday would disagree.
With the mercury dropping to below freezing and mercilessly refusing to climb again, Donegal-natives decided to make the most of it by turning the beautiful Errigal Mountain into a scene from the Winter Olympics.
Locals grabbed their equipment and headed for the mountain top, which was layered in a pristine blanket of white powder.
Puzzled hikers could only look on in amazement.

Plenty of frost is forecasted over the weekend and drivers are being warned of black ice on the roads.
