A SHOCKING video has emerged showing the moment a lit firework was thrown into a young woman's hood and exploded.
The video was posted on 98FM's Adrian Kennedy and Jeremy Dixon Facebook page after it was sent to the programme by a listener.
In the footage, understood to be filmed on Railway Street in Dublin's north inner city, a male can be seen approaching the female from behind and placing a lit firework in her hood before running away.
The young woman, realising the firework is in her hood, attempts to escape the blast before the firework explodes as the crowd behind her watches on and laughs.
It's understood the young woman suffered burn injuries following the incident.
The Irish Post has contacted An Garda Síochána for comment.
