AN POST have released their 2020 Christmas advert, and it's a real tearjerker.
As is typically the case, Christmas marketing tends to try and pull on the heart-strings a little, and Ireland's postal service are at it again with yet another heartwarming classic.
The ad, titled 'Make a Memory', features a story about Christmas traditions and how they have the power to truly brings all generations together.
It begins with a man rummaging through a box of old fairy lights, only to find a Christmas card his father wrote to him when he was a boy.
After being reminded of a special Christmas moment he shared with his dad, he decides to extend the tradition to his daughter, who sends a card with the same words written in it to her grandfather, bringing three generations together.
It demonstrates how even the simplest of gestures at Christmas can evoke memories, bring a smile, and show someone that you are thinking of them, which is particularly poignant given the Covid-19 pandemic and social restrictions in place this year.
Speaking about the ad, An Post Commercial Director Julie Gill said: "At An Post we know the sheer joy and delight that a Christmas card coming through the letterbox brings for so many and this campaign highlights how, even the smallest of gestures, can conjure the happiest of memories for many.
"While this Christmas will be different to what we're used to we want to shine a light on the happy memories that have already been made through the years and the power they have to carry us through to all the great Christmases that are yet to come.
"This year we want to encourage the nation to relish those memories with family and friends and maybe even start some new traditions, like the kids sending a Christmas card to their grandparents, which will spark joy and give them that much needed lift."
