Warning to dog owners issued after shocking images emerged of pooch's badly BURNT paws

The hot weather has left many Irish people suffering from the heat and it seems like their furry friends are barely getting by.

As temperatures are set to reach up to 30 degrees celsius, pet owners have been advised to be protective of their pets in the hot weather.

One dog has suffered severe burns on the bottom of their paws from walking on Irish roads in the hot weather.

The Laois Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LSPCA) shared a picture of the dog's devastating burns, asking dog walkers to avoid the hottest time of day to walk their pooch.

The appeal read: "Please don’t walk your dogs in the middle of the day. Try to go early in the morning or late evening. The roads are too hot and will badly burn their pads. Try walking midday in your bare feet and you’ll see."

The extreme weather earlier during the year in Storm Emma saw a charity warn dog owners of minding their pets, as one dog died from being left outside in the cold and snow.
