GRADUATION day is always a special occasion for any father - but for this Newry dad it was even more so.
Patsy Conville boarded a flight to Liverpool to witness his daughter Emma graduate from Liverpool John Moore' University - and it was his first time on an airplane.
His other daughter Michelle managed to captured the hilarious moment on camera as the plane took off from Ireland.
However, it was probably Patsy's actions on the way back to Ireland that really made it a very Irish experience.
“On the return flight back to Ireland, he went into the cockpit to shake hands with the pilot to say thank you for getting him home safely and said, ‘Now I know why the pope kisses the ground in every country he arrives in’," Michelle told Her.ie.
