TWO women were arrested yesterday morning (Wednesday, 10 August) at Derry City Airport on suspicion of endangering an aircraft.
The women, who are in their 30s, were on a Ryanair flight from Stansted when they became disruptive in-flight.
PSNI police officers attended the flight when it landed in Derry shortly after 8am yesterday morning.
A spokesperson for Ryanair have said the flight crew requested police assistance upon landing at Derry.
A statement from the airline says, "Two passengers became disruptive in flight, and were removed and detained by police."
The statement continued, saying the airline will "not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority."
A statement from the PSNI seen by The Irish Post, said the two women were removed from the flight on request from the pilot, and were arrested on "suspicion of endangering an aircraft."
The PSNI confirmed this morning that the women were released yesterday evening and were given a Community Resolution Order for their disorderly behaviour.
