WE all know the weather is getting colder, but there’s heavy rainfall on the way now too.
Met Éireann has issued two status yellow rain warnings for seven counties in Ireland this weekend.
Status yellow is relatively severe, containing “possible travel delays, or the disruption of your day to day activities.”
The first status yellow warning concerns Galway Mayo, Clare, and Kerry, and forecasts rainfall of 40 and 50mm.
It’s set to come into effect this evening and will hang around until about 6 pm on Saturday.
The second warning is addressed to Offaly, Limerick, and Tipperary with rainfall of up to 50mm expected to hit those counties too.
According to Met Eireann, “Tonight will be cloudy and wet, with widespread rain, heavy in many areas, with a risk of localized flooding.”
You might want to get the raincoat and brolly out this weekend so. Alternatively just don’t leave the house.
Meanwhile, the Arctic winds we spoke of will be making it’s way to Ireland Sunday evening, with temperatures expected to drop as of early next week.
An Arctic Maritime air mass will move across the UK this weekend, many won't feel its effects until Sunday but it will bring lots of sunny weather with some cold, blustery showers which could fall as snow on the Scottish mountains ❄️🌨️☀️ https://t.co/DfRFcLOXyc pic.twitter.com/DHggIRM7X3
