Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident.
A man believed to be in his 40s has been hospitalised after an attack in the early hours of this morning.
Two youths have been arrested in relation to the attack.
The assault happened in Riverside, Woodquay in County Galway.
It's not yet known what condition the victim is in.
