Two Irish seafood restaurants nominated for best in the world award

TWO SEAFOOD restaurants in Ireland have been nominated for the award for Best Luxury Seafood Restaurant in the world.

The restaurants - both of which are in Dublin - received their nominations as part of the annual Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Aqua Restaurant, which can found on the West Pier in Howth, as well as SOLE Seafood & Grill, on William Street in Dublin 2, stood out as two of the world's most exquisite seafood spots.

The former was nominated for not one, but two awards, getting the nod for Best Luxury Waterside Restaurant as well, and has its stunning view overlooking Ireland's Eye to thank.

"The Aqua dining room has floor to ceiling windows offering a majestic view over the water to Ireland's Eye a stunning uninhabited island or over the bustling fishing harbour. Always included on the Aqua menu is the finest fish from the daily local catch," reads the nomination report.

"Howth lobster is a favourite speciality or Irish reared beef or lamb served with seasonal vegetables or salads from the Aqua kitchen garden. A truly memorable dining experience awaits with the combination of seriously good food, in a room with a view."

Meanwhile, SOLE Seafood & Grill brands itself as 'A taste of Ireland in the heart of Dublin'.

"SOLE Seafood & Grill encapsulates the true taste of Ireland, offering the ultimate dining experience for any occasion. A restaurant like no other; the warm chic interior is complemented by a stylish bar and tasteful food and drinks menus," their nomination reads.

This year's ceremony will be the fourth annual Luxury Restaurant Awards.

They describe themselves as the pinnacle of achievement in the luxury restaurant industry, with over 100,000 international travellers voting in the awards each year.
