A WOMAN in Co. Meath has shared her story of being targeted by two fake Gardaí Síochána recently.
An Irish mother-of-one has spoken of the fear she felt when being stopped by two men posing as policemen in the Ashbourne area of Co. Meath.
The woman said she was driving her young daughter home when a car, that resembled that of a Garda's, waved her over.
She recalled: "At 6.40pm tonight myself and my 13yr old were driving home from swimming.. I live on a dark country road. No street lights. Anyway a car from behind flashed it's Blue lights and flashed their head lights for me to pull over. Thinking it was An Gardaí I pulled over, rolled down the window as you would.. "
The Meath woman revealed that it was rather, two men posing as policemen as a joke, stopping cars in the dark: "However it was NOT An Gardaí it was 2 sh**heads out to intimidate and they succeeded in doing so.
She spoke of how afraid she felt with her young daughter in the back of the car, unsure of what the men were planning to do: "My heart sank thinking about Ana and what were they going to do. One stood at my window which is now open the other shone a torch in the windscreen at Ana. At that stage I knew we might be in trouble so I took off like a bullet. I'm still shaking from this."
