Twitter hides Donald Trump tweet claiming Democrats were trying to steal the election

TWITTER admin decided to hide a tweet posted by Donald Trump which claimed that the Democrats were trying to steal the election.

Just hours after voting closed around the country, the president tweeted: "We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!"

Twitter responded by initially hiding the tweet, then later placing a warning on it, calling Trump's words "misleading".

"We placed a warning on a Tweet from @realDonaldTrump for making a potentially misleading claim about an election. This action is in line with our Civil Integrity Policy," Twitter Safety posted.

Facebook also added a warning to the president's message on its platform.

A label underneath the equivalent post read: "Final results may be different from initial vote counts, as ballot counting will continue for days."

The Trump campaign called the warnings an "attack" by tech companies, suggesting they were trying to suppress his voice, saying: "Silicon Valley continues its campaign to censor and silence the president."

At a press briefing early this morning, Trump hinted at a major election fraud, suggesting that the mail-in ballots couldn't be trusted and that sensationally demanded that counting be stopped.

He even threatened to take legal action and take matters to the Supreme Court.
