CHRISTY Moore and cancer campaigner Vicky Phelan are among the guests on tonight's Late Late Show on RTÉ One.
Christy Moore will join host Ryan Tubridy to discuss the release of his new album Flying into Mystery, as well as his Lifetime Achievement Award that he scooped up the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards earlier this week.
The loved Irish balladeer will also perform an exclusive selection of songs from his new album.
Recently back from a long stint undergoing experimental cancer treatment in the United States, Vicky Phelan will join Tubridy to talk about her decision to stop her chemotherapy treatment and return home for Christmas.
The Kilkenny mum of two recently announced on her Instagram that her treatment is “palliative” at this stage and that “there is nothing else that can be done medically”.
She said: “And so, I decided that, for me, quality of life is far more important to me now than quantity of life if the extra time that I might get means that I have to go through hell for 2-3 weeks every month.”
Following the impact of last year’s Toy Show Appeal, which raised €6.6m for charities across the country, the host will catch up with some of those – over 600,000 people – whose lives were helped by the initiative.
The segment features children showcasing their favourite toys, alongside a sprinkling of celebrity guests.
Comedian and impressionist Mario Rosenstock will also be joining Tubridy for some light gags for the audience to enjoy.
The show has announced a musical tribute to the late, great Freddie Mercury, 30 years after the superstar’s tragic death on 24 November, 1991.
The clock is ticking for applications to join the Toy Show studio audience – with two golden tickets still to be snapped up by midnight on Friday night.
