Tickets for Pope Francis' visit to Knock all gone in just four hours

TICKETS for Pope Francis' visit to Knock shrine have been snapped up after becoming available earlier this morning.

Applications for the free tickets became available to the public earlier this morning.

Tickets for a huge mass at Croke Park, which is a centrepiece of the World Meeting Of Families (WMOF) conference, are also fully subscribed.

There are still plenty of tickets available for the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park on Sunday, August 26.

Thousands of people are still queueing online to enter the ticket portal at www.worldmeeting2018.ie.

A large number of international visitors signed up to see Pope Francis in Ireland, even before the tickets were formally released today.

It will be one of the most international gatherings ever held in Ireland, with people coming from 114 countries.
