THREE people have been arrested in Belfast as part of an investigation into human trafficking.
It follows a search at a property in the Annadale Embankment area of south Belfast on Friday night.
The three suspects — a 39-year-old woman and two men, aged 42 and 41 — were detained on suspicion of offences including brothel-keeping and controlling prostitution.
PSNI officers rescued two women during the search, who are believed to have been victims of human trafficking.
A sum of cash was also seized, while a follow-up search of a property in the Newtownards Road area uncovered three suspected firearms.
The suspects remained in custody on Saturday afternoon while police continue to offer specialist support to the rescued women.
