THREE people have been arrested in Ireland in connection with the escape of convict Derek Brockwell last month.
A man and a woman in their early 60s were arrested in Co. Meath and are currently in garda custody in Tallaght.
Meanwhile, a man in his 30s was arrested in the Portlaoise area and is being held in Rathfarnham Garda station.
They are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
British national Brockwell made headlines last month when he allegedly stabbed two prison officers and made his escape from Tallaght hospital, where he had been brought for treatment from Portlaoise prison.
A manhunt was launched by gardaí and it was warned that he may return to Britain, as he had connections in Scotland.
He was arrested outside a pub in Belfast city centre the following day and remains in PSNI custody.
